Why Ready specifically

Nothing is signed until you approve it in Ready, and submitting stays disabled until a wallet is linked. Ready generates and holds your viewing key on your device and produces the proofs behind every private action. That is why it is required for these, even though other Starknet wallets can hold your public funds.

Shielded STRK you can sendWithheld until a wallet is linked

Withheld, not empty. The figure is encrypted on chain and only your viewing key decrypts it, so link Ready above and it reads from your own notes.

Send privately

Send from your shielded balance. The recipient needs to have shielded funds at least once before. This app cannot set that up for them.

How this works

Sending in a batch of several recipients is one transaction and one fee. If any single recipient in the batch isn't set up yet, the whole batch is refused rather than partially sent.

Sealed · settled record

mainnet

A private send has settled on mainnet

One STRK moved from a shielded balance to another registered account inside the canonical STRK20 pool. Explorers show the pool call and its fee, not who received what. The record holds 5 settled mainnet transactions and 6 on Sepolia.

What has settled: the send, and the registration it needed

  • Private send and unshield on mainnetSUCCEEDED

One apply_actions proved by the STRK20 prover through Starkscan: ViewingKeySet, Deposit of 3 STRK, two EncNoteCreated (1 STRK sent privately to the owner account, 1 STRK kept shielded) and a Withdrawal of 1 STRK back to public. 5 events from the pool.

  • Private tokens enabled on the owner accountSUCCEEDED

ViewingKeySet plus a 6 STRK deposit consumed exactly by the pool fee, so the account is registered with a zero shielded balance and no note is created. 16 events, 3 from the pool.

A private transfer is accepted only when the recipient has already registered a viewing key with the pool, which is why the panel above asks for a recipient who has shielded once. The second receipt is that registration for the account the first one paid.

Fee comes out of your shielded STRK, not your public balance: measured on mainnet, a wallet with 19.6 public STRK and 2.0 shielded was refused for insufficient fee funds. Public STRK still pays gas.
